1980 Z28 - 3,028 mile Survivor, F41 Suspension - LM1 - 350ci V8, Auto

See this beautiful Z28 at the 2017 Barrett Jackson Las Vegas Auction - October 19-21. Bid in person or remote using On-Line Bidding.

This 1980 Chevrolet Z28 is a one owner car with only 3,028 miles on it. It is a literal time capsule from the 2nd Gen Camaro world that will stand proud in any Muscle Car collection. Anywhere you look on this car, it shows as it did when delivered New.

The underside and engine compartment are outstanding. It's as if time has stood still just waiting for you to own this car. The Z28 was a complete package that included Engine, Exhaust, Wheels, Suspension, driveline and cosmetic changes. When other manufacturers were dropping Horse Power, Chevrolet managed to increase the output of the LM1 – 350ci engine by 15hp. In the 1981 Model, they lost this same 15hp, making the 1980 one of the best years to own of the late 2nd Generation Z28's.

The ¼ mile times were in the Low 16 sec. range. Car and Driver managed a 16.0 with the automatic version this car is equipped with. That may seem a little slow by today's standards, but for 1980, that was moving. It was only few tenths off the best time recorded for a Corvette of the same era. At several thousand's less, this was the Bow-Tie to consider if the pricy Corvette was out of your reach.

Production was 45,137 units in 1980. Of those, only 18,196 were optioned with the AM-FM Stereo 8-Track player. It is estimated that only about 10% were finished in the brilliant metallic Bronze – Code 80 color. So that should make this car 1 of about 4,514. That is fairly low production and a unique color as well.

Still rolling on its factory installed tires, nothing has been modified on this car. It is optioned with several desirable features including Air Conditioning, tilt steering column, interval wiper system, Softray Glass and a Factory AM-FM 8-track Stereo. This is most likely one of the nicest examples still in existence.
