There are only 16,626 miles on the Trans AM. It is 1 of only 2.917 available in 1979. That is less than 3% of the production for 1979. That makes this Pontiac a real collectable. Trans AM's optioned like these are considered some of the most collectible of the late 2nd Gen TA's on the market. 1979 marked the culmination of the Best features built into one TA and also marked the end of the Big Pontiac V8's. The W72 400 was never to be seen again. The WS6 handling option received the highly desirable 4 Wheel Disc Brakes and this put the Trans AM into a new class or performance cars. With it torque and deep rumble, the 400ci Pontiac was the biggest engine of the year for GM in a Sports Car. Even the Corvette would only be offered with a 350ci V8.

This TA is a solid Survivor that we rescued from long term storage. It had sat such a long time that it did require some detailing and freshening up. We set out to replace what needed replacing and did this always keeping an eye on the originality of the car. We kept the majority of the paint original. So you will see minor flaws and patina on this TA. But this also helped keep the pure survivor look and also helped keep the cost down on this rare TA. The engine really needed freshening up do to sitting in the same position for so many years, so we decided to do it right. It was treated to a stock rebuild by our expert staff here at RAMC. New Wheels, Tires and Interior updates like carpet, headliner, package tray were all installed. Mechanical systems like Brakes, Cooling system, Heater core and more were all installed New. Quite honestly, the list of NEW items on this car is endless. So if you want a beautiful low mileage, collectible and fun to drive TA, this is the one you have been waiting for.
